Shopping Trip 4/27/11 - Free Ice Cream !!!!!

Due to the rain, I didn’t have to pick up the boys tonight.  So I decided to make good use of my time.
I stopped at Target.  I didn’t have a lot of deals, but thought that since I was in the neighborhood that I would give it a try.   Not a great idea or at least for me….
All most all of the deals that I was shopping for involved pairing Target coupons with manufacturers coupons.  Much to my dismay, the sheet of coupons that I needed to use had mysteriously disappeared.
I only purchased two items.
1)      Schick Hydro 5 Razor       $6.49     -$3.00 coupon from FB page       $3.39
2)      Bic Soleil Razor                 $4.99     -$3.00 coupon (link of my page)                $1.99
Not bad deals, but not really worth the time for just two items.
Then I headed to Dierbergs.  I am not a Dierbergs fan, but I hadn’t yet tried their $5 meat sale.  It wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great either.  I picked up 2 bags of boneless, skinless chicken, 1 pork tenderloin, 1 package of chicken legs, and 1 round steak.
I also purchased 2 Wholly Salsas and 2 Skinny Cow ice creams.  For the Skinny Cow Ice Cream see below.  Dierbergs has them 10/$10 on the little 5.6oz, with the coupon that is free.  Also the salsa was $1.49 with a -$1.50 off coupon.
There's a HOT new $1/1 any Skinny Cow Ice Cream printable coupon on their Facebook fan page! Hit your back button to print it twice.

After running all over the store to get my items, my cashier was new and slow!  I finally paid $35.10.  It sounds really too high and was leaving thinking ‘geez what are taxes in Edwardsville.  As I stopped to check my receipt, my new cashier chased me down.  He had “charged” me for my coupons rather than gave me money off.  Would I please proceed to the customer service desk?

At the desk I had to explain my story again and wait while they pondered how to fix my bill.  At the end I asked, what about for my time and trouble.  For my time and trouble, they gave me a free rotisserie chicken gift certificate and my $10.00 refund.  Score 1 for Dierbergs at least trying to make it right.

That is pretty much it.  On the way home, I enjoyed my free Arby's sandwich.  See the details for getting yours below.
