Wal-Mart / Walgreens Shopping Trip 4/25/11

I am new to blogging.  This will be my first post.
I started couponing just two weeks ago.  I am by no means an expert, but more than happy to share what I have learned.
On my picture, I purchased the items at two placed Wal-Mart and Walgreens.
At Wal-Mart, I had two transactions of Men’s Dove Deodorant.   Target and Wal-Mart will price match most competitor ads.  There are a few rules that you have to watch for.  I had a CVS ad.  There was a limit of 5 per purchase.  This was the reason that I had to check out twice.
After Wal-Mart, I had spent $5.63 in each transaction for a total of $11.26
After work, I headed to Wal-Greens.  They do RR or register rewards that WM and Target do not match.
I purchased the following deals:
1)      4 Arm & Hammer Detergents
a.       There is a coupon in their ad 2/$6.  If you do not present the coupon in the ad, they will not automatically ring up $3.00.
b.      I had a manufactor’s coupon for $1/2.  I printed two off the Internet.  I think I got two for “liking” Arm & Hammer on Facebook.  I also received one  in the most recent About You magazine.
c.       There is a limit of 3 on the in tore coupon. So I purchased two in two different transactions.
d.      Final price $2.50 per item.
2)      4 Clorox Clean Up
a.       On sale this week at  WG for 2/$5.
b.      In store coupon booklet has coupon for $2 off the purchase of 2.  This makes it 2/$3.
c.       I had 2 $1 off coupons.  On Facebook, I printed off two $1 off 1 coupons.  You have to find the Clorox challenge, vote, and then print the two coupons.
d.      Lilmit two per transaction on the instore coupon.  I purchased 2 in 2 different transactions.
3)      2 Tilex Shower
a.       On sale this week at  WG for 2/$5.
b.      In store coupon booklet has coupon for $2 off the purchase of 2.  This makes it 2/$3.
c.       There were “peelies” or instant coupons attached to the bottle for $0.50 off immediately.
d.      I used both of these and purchased the Tilex for $1.00 per bottle.
4)      Schick Shave Gel
a.       On sale this week, B1 at $3.69 get one free.
b.      Printed 2 $1 off 1 coupons from facebook.  Not sure exactly the name of the page, but search Schick and you should find it.
c.       I paid $1.69 for 2 shave gels or $0.845 per item.
5)      Butterfinger Snacks
a.       On sale this week for $0.39 per item
b.      Printed $1 off 2 on coupons.com
c.       Paid -$0.11 per unit
6)      Baby Ruth
a.       These were just “fillers”
b.      Walgreens has a rule only one coupon per item (excluding in store or in ad coupons).  This is fine as long as you don’t have extra coupon like a RR (register reward.)
c.       I bought the candy bars so that I could use my $6 register rewards
7)      Stayfree Ultra Thin
a.       On sale for $2.99
b.      Get $3.00 RR AFTER you pay for it.
c.       Had $1.00 off $1 coupon.  I either printed it off FB or coupons.com.  I can’t remember.
d.      I get paid $1 for each of the items that I buy.
I also used 3 $3.00 Register Reward coupons and left with a new $3.00 register reward.  RR’s expire.  I try to save them from one week to use the next.
I also planned on trying to get Schick razors this week.  WG has them B1G1 free, a sale that WM and Target will not match.  Unfortunately WG was sold out.  The manager told me that if they are out after Wednesday, they will write rain checks.  Apparently they get a delivery on Wednesday.  On the same page for the Schick shaving cream, there is a $3.00 off razors coupon.  With the B1G1 free you can use 2 coupons.  The lowest qualifying razor Schick Hydro 3 is  priced at $8.99 less $6.00 in coupons and you are paying $2.99 for 2 razor / refills or $1.49 / unit.
I would also recommend that you find a few coupon sites, better than mine and like them.  They will post alerts with links when they find good deals.  Also match coupons to circulars so that you do not have to do all of the work.  I will pass them along as I see them.  I currently “like” Couponers United, Bargain Hound, I Love the Mart, and STL Coupon.
Thanks for reading.  If you find any deals, please pass them along.  Thanks.
